The Holocaust – State of Israel Style 2005 – Neo-Nazi Organizations and Swastika Graffiti.
"Hitler was a genius. He succeeded in doing what no one else had done", wrote a 16 year old boy from Be'er Sheva, on his computer's ICQ program. Unfortunately for him, he addressed these shocking statements to Police Investigator Staff Sergeant Oleg Rosental, whose relentless compilation of information, which continued approximately a month, brought to the youth's arrest. Tomorrow (Thursday), charges will be brought against the Neo-Nazi youth in the Shalom Court House in Be'er Sheva.
In the last three months, the police have received a string of complaints due the spraying of swastikas throughout the city. In one instance, swastikas were found on a synagogue, in another, swastikas were found on the walls of the city's court. A third time, swastikas were sprayed on a police car in neighborhood "Tet" in the city. All in all, 10 different complaints were received. Therefore, when nearby one of the swastikas an ICQ address was found, (a virtual conversation computer program widely used by teenagers), Inspector Amnon Korolker, Chief of the Youth Division, in Be'er Sheva, realized that he had struck gold.
The task was assigned to Youth Investigator Oleg Rosental, who created a virtual personality of a girl the suspect's age and got in touch with him. During the first weeks, routine conversations between the two took place, as with all teenagers. The two spoke of hobbies, friends and ways they spent their time. After initial trust was established, the investigator told him that he had graffiti he had drawn in his room. "I also draw" wrote the suspect in Russian, in English letters, and from that point, went by the name "Picasso" to "the girl falling in love".
At length, "the girl" admitted to him that she had found his address at a bus station, underneath a swastika. "That was the beginning of the start of his admissions of the painting of swastikas throughout the city of Be'er Sheva" said Staff Sergeant Rosental incognito as "the girl falling in love". "I didn't pressure him in our virtual conversations, but slowly lured him to tell me about his Neo-Nazi hobbies. He told me of spraying graffiti, gave me addresses of Neo-Nazi sites and then told me: "Hitler was a genius who succeeded in doing what no one else had done"." I was horrified. It was very difficult for me. It was time to arrest him" said the incognito investigator.
Today the youth was arrested and brought, ill, to police investigation. He admitted to the investigators that he had sprayed swastikas and even reconstructed his actions in front of the investigators. In a search of his computer, other Neo-Nazi addresses were found. In his room, swastika illustrations as well as games with Neo-Nazi themes were discovered. From the investigation it was determined that the youth's mother, an "olah" from the U.S.S.R., is not Jewish. His step father is half Jewish. The youth does not know his biological father. It was further ascertained that the boy in question is "normative" and studies in the 9th grade in one of comprehensive schools in the city.
"I did stupid things. I started to take interest in Heavy Metal music and got to Neo-Nazi sites and got carried away" he said to his investigators. Chief Amnon Korolker told Y-Net (an Internet news site) that in coordination with the prosecution department in the Negev, it was decided to file charges against the youth tomorrow, Holocaust Day. "We have no intention of requesting a psychological evaluation. In our opinion, the youth is sane and is fit to stand trial".
