In reports from the Central Office of Statistics on the year 2002, data appears that non-Jews constitute 25% of the population of the State of Israel, in other words, 2% more than in the year 2001. However, according to the latest information from the the "Center for Assimilation Research", which is located near Bar-Ilan University,there are 28% of non-Jews in Israel. These two respected institutions do not bother, unfortunately, to cite the change in trend in the demographic composition of the State of Israel. And the trend is: the younger the age group – the higher the percentage of non-Jews.

Every Second Born in the State of Israel – is a non-Jew.

This frightening statistic, which astonished its way onto the pages of Israeli newspapers, includes in it the children of Israeli Arabs, of non-Jewish "Olim" immigrants and of foreign workers, many of whom reside here. The Jewish majority will be kept intact in the near future by the elderly and to some extent by the middle aged. Afterwards, the Jews will become the minority which will slowly disintegrate from year to year. This process is being accelerated due to the yearly import of tens of thousands of non-Jews in the camouflage of "Olim". Among the Olim from the U.S.S.R. during the years 2000-2002, Jews constitute no more than a quarter.

In a systematic manner, against the movement, "Damir" – for Aliyah absorption, founded the "Center for Information and Assistance for Antisemitic Casualties in Israel". According to Center's activists, - massive import of people who do not belong here – has caused waves of anti-Semitic occurrences in Israel's cities. Provocative assemblies of Russia speaking youth "decorated" in Nazi symbols, desecrated Jewish cemeteries.

In the State of Israel, Antisemitic as well as Neo-Nazi literature is imported in the country circulated undeterred here in tens of thousands of copies – all this to a great extent constitutes the consequences of the "Jewish Agency's" actions.

Not long ago, "Damir" organized a protest rally near the "Jewish Agency's" buildings in Jerusalem, in which participated veteran activists as well as new members who saw the announcement of the rally on the Internet, one of whom turned to me in the following manner:

"I uphold your claims against the "Jewish Agency" with my whole heart. I know only too well the disregard of the "Jewish Agency" to its full extent: I worked for the "Jewish Agency" in the city of Tegenrog for a period of 6 years."

We became acquainted: The name of the former agent of the "Jewish Agency", Yosef (Alexander) Shaihet. A few days afterwards, we met with Yosef for a conversation.

Before us lies an advertisement from the magazine "Gorizonti" (Horizons) distributed by the "Jewish Agency" within the bounds of the U.S.S.R.:

"If at least one of your grandfathers or grandmothers on either side of either your father or your mother's side is registered as having a "Jewish" nationality, according the amendment of the Law of Return, you are entitled to make aliyah to Israel."

At the time, the "Jewish Agency"s" management announced, in answer to an interpellation on this issue, that the advertisement was published by mistake and in the future there would be no similar advertisements. However, our associates report to us time after time that communal workers of the "Jewish Agency" continue doing this.

"And what is your response to this?"

"You should know that over my work table in the "Jewish Agency's" offices, in Tegenrog, hangs a huge sign publicizing the Youth Plans of the "Jewish Agency" "Na'ale" (youth before parents aliyah), "Selah", "Dream", "Kibbutz-Ulpan". The sign carries the comment:

"Entitled to Aliyah are all those who one of their paternal or maternal grandparents are Jewish"

Incidentally, over 80% of the programs' participants are those people who have only one grandfather or one grandmother who were "Jewish". The significance of the concession of the extensive public notice of section 4A in the Law of Return will be complete ruin of all the 'Jewish Agency's" actions in the boundaries of the U.S.S.R.. Therefore, it is clear that notices such as the one in front of us – may be seen in all public advertisements in the boundaries of the U.S.S.R. which the "Jewish Agency" circulates.

"You mentioned the percentage of the "grandchildren". Perhaps you have statistics on the whole period during which you worked there?"

"Of course. During the period of my work between 1994-2000, 600 people from the city Tegenrog immigrated to Israel. Out of these, 108 appeared on the registry as "Jews", 132 had no Jewish background whatsoever – these were the spouses of those entitled to the Law of Return as well as their underage children of these couples from previous marriages. All the rest are offspring of Jews – children, grandchildren and underage great grandchildren. And if we take into consideration the "couple" aspect of the statistics, we can see that out of 134 married couples who immigrated to Israel during this period, there were only 11 couples in which both sides were Jewish. And out of these 22 people, not one was under the age of 60".

"What is the significance of the definition "appear on the registry as Jews"?" Isn't is so that people of mixed heritage may be registered as Jews?"

"Appear on the registry as a Jew" – the practical significance is that both of the person's father and mother are Jews. During the 6 years of my work, only one single time did I meet a person with an alternative and who was registered as a Jew."

"Clerks and politicians claim that non-Jews who come to settle in Israel become Jews automatically in a sort of "squatter's rights" for Jewish nationality."

"The claim is complete speculation. It is a secret to no one that the Russian "Aliyah" was born of financial motives. But that is neither the worst aspect of the issue. Much worse is that the "Jewish Agency" is directed in its work by financial considerations alone. The essence of the "Jewish Agency's" role is two acts: to fill out the form and to board people onto the airplane. From the beginning of my work there, I could not accept this situation. I assumed that before an immigrant was sent to Israel – he must be given at least minimal knowledge in Jewish matters. A year ago, after I arrived in Israel, I got in touch with Olim who went through our office – half of them wish to return to Russia and the other half dream of Canada, some of whom have already gone there. Only few say they are happy here. When I was working as Aliyah coordinator, I tried as best I could to acquaint the Aliyah candidates with the Jewish heritage: I would read to them from Shalom Aleichem's work, from historical and beautiful literature. Unfortunately, as for most of them, my efforts were in vain. No less frustrating for me was my colleague's attitude, who perceived my actions to be those of Don Juan and quietly ridiculed me. Here I must mention that the concept "Jewish Agency Employees" in Russia consists of 2 categories: Israelis, who take the administrative roles and local employees. The ratio between them is 1:10. Once in a blue moon, the Israelis will feel a twinge of Jewish conscience and then one may hear sighs such as "So what are we doing?" , "So who are we bringing?". Distressingly, this awakening passes all too quickly."

As for the local "Jewish Agency" employees, it is apparent that these people are usually completely lacking in sentiment. At the same time, they could easily be working in any other office; they just happened to find work at the "Jewish Agency".

On August 5^th 2002, the "Yasmin" ship anchored at Haifa's port with 380 "olim" from the U.S.S.R. on board. On this day, the daily "olim" arrival reached its highest point for the year 2002. According to information in the Israeli media, less than 10% of those on the boat were Jewish. This passage was organized and funded by a Christian organization by the name of "Ibn Ezer", which according to sources, had brought close to 90,000 "olim" to Israel since 1991. "And you, Yosef, have you encountered such organizations?"

"Certainly, during the course of recent years, more and more Christian organizations "imitate" the "Jewish Agency's" actions within the U.S.S.R. And while the "Jewish Agency" is required to act within the reference of the Law of Return – the actions of the Christians are under no similar restrictions. For some reason, they set a goal for themselves – to bring as many people as possible to Israel. Perhaps it has to do, in some way, with their perception of the prophets in the Scriptures. Furthermore, they adopt Hebrew names for themselves: "Ibn Ezer", "Yad Ezra" and one of the organizations bears the name "Jabotinsky". At some stage, the "Jewish Agency's" management decided to contact them. I was present at the meeting with them. In a short time, it became clear that they can compete successfully with the "Jewish Agency" in all statistics and relations became tense. These organizations' emissaries wander around cities and villages, reaching every forsaken corner. There, they seek out people who are likely to, according to the emissaries understanding, claim Jewish roots: for instance, whoever has a family name which ends in "ski" or "itz" (absolute foolishness – since these are pure Slavic name endings – which are used partially in Jewish names, the emissaries are not picky). These people are convinced to apply for immigration to Israel. Whoever agrees, is assisted in carrying out all the required preparation and is brought to the Israeli consul. There, of course, most are sent away due to total lack of Jewish background, however, many succeed in grasping onto something".

An employee of the Ministry of Interior, P., who requested to remain anonymous, tells us:

"According to the accepted concept in the world – the working youth constitutes the "cream" of the country. Of course, this group has the highest priority as far as the staff of the responsible Israeli consuls are concerned. As for verifying their Jewish bond and for giving out Aliyah visas, consequently, they decide Aliyah rights based on extremely dubious documents, which we, in the Ministry of Interior – despite all good intentions, cannot under any circumstance, accept."

"When these young people get hurt and become frustrated, we must simply remember that the responsibility falls on those unreliable people who convinced these young people to immigrate to Israel to begin with…"

"Lately, the Israeli institution is finding it increasingly difficult to conceal this defective "Aliyah" policy."

"The formula of the Law of Return is lying in front of me. In no section in it does it say that the "Jewish Agency's" representatives are obligated to look for people abroad who have the right to the Law of Return" – said former assistant Minister of Absorption, Yuli Edelstein, harshly, in front of the "Jewish Agency's" Aliyah Department Head on the television program "Popolitica" in November 2002.

In Conclusion

In the last decade, the "Jewish Agency" has become an overpowering system, imposing on immeasurable resources and employing countless people. The "Jewish Agency's" tycoons have no intention of relinquishing this authority. Sources at the "Jewish Agency" are concealing the actual percentage of the non-Jewish among the immigrants to Israel. They do this by means of anti- informative statistics (for example, the breakdown of Jews within different age groups, etc.).

A constant effort exists to smoke screen the fact that the "Jewish Agency" has become simply a travel agency for non-Jewish immigrants.

On the eve of Independence Day this year ,as before every Independence Day, the Central Office of Statistics published the data on the make up of the population in Israel. We were proudly told that the percentage of Jews in the country stands at 81% as it did in its founding year.
